DOMESTIC. Our ceramic worktops are designed and manufactured in Finland, so you support Finnish work. We deliver worktops all over Finland.
DURABLE Ceramics are fired at 1250°C, which means that the material withstands temperature variations, stress, cutting, and machining. High breaking strength. The surface is tight, hygienic, and easy to clean. You only need water and a mild cleaning agent. No need for maintenance treatments. Water absorption only 0.5%.
Made of clay, quartz and feldspar – because of this, minor deviations in material colours and surfaces are possible. This can be noted, for example, in worktop and backsplash combinations, where 6mm and 12mm thick tiles are from different production batches and there may be shade differences between the batches.
Ceramic countertops are tailor made for each kitchen. Below are examples of implementations, ask more about the possibilities. Patterns can be aligned if this is feasible from the production point of view.
ABL worktops and backsplashes
When designing a ceramic worktop, it is good to consider the necessary machining operations – openings for household appliances and the sink, whether the kitchen furniture should be clad with ceramics throughout, and whether the backsplash should also be made of ceramic material. Care instructions for ceramic worktops
When using cleaning agents and means, proceed in compliance with the operating and safety instructions provided by the manufacturer. Before using a cleaning product, test its compatibility on a loose part or small invisible area. Never use cleaning agents containing hydrofluoric acid or its compounds (fluorides). Such agents may damage ceramic worktops even if extensively diluted in water. Use of abrasive pastes, steel wool, metal spatulas, ceramic knives or similar abrasive or scratching agents or materials may damage the worktop surface.
Principles of ceramic ABL worktop cleaning
- Choose a cleaning agent of the right type (do not use cleaning products forming a protective film or waxy surface).
- Ensure long enough exposure time.
- If necessary, use a cleaning sponge or brush to intensify the cleaning.
- Carefully remove dirt separated from the surface by washing or vacuum cleaning.
- Rinse with clean water until any cleaning agent residues have been removed.
- Remove impurities sufficiently often and quickly to prevent them from sticking.
- Immediately remove any colourants, such as oils and fats (for example, hair dyes, essential oils, condiments and similar substances).
First cleaning after installation: Be thorough, for this promotes easy cleaning of the worktop in the future as well. After worktop installation, remove any impurities from the surfaces. In most cases, a mild cleaning agent with hot water are sufficient for this. For intensive cleaning, see instructions below. Lastly, rinse the worktop and dry with a dry cloth.
Daily cleaning: Clean the worktop with a soft cloth, hot water, and a mild cleaning agent, if necessary. Lastly, rinse the worktop with water and dry with a dry cloth.
Intensive worktop cleaning: Avoid heavy chafing. Choose the cleaning agent and means depending on the dirt and the need for cleaning. Always rinse the worktop after cleaning and dry with a dry cloth. The properties of glossy-surfaced ceramic worktops differ substantially from those of matt-surfaced worktops. Do not use abrasive sponges when cleaning glossy worktops; keep in mind that the surfaces cannot withstand strongly alkaline (PH above 11) cleaning agents!
Matt-surfaced worktops – intensive cleaning stages:
- Try a neutral, non-abrasive cleaning agent first – if necessary, intensify the cleaning by using a slightly coarse sponge or a “magic sponge”.
- Try a slightly abrasive cleaning agent with a soft cloth or sponge.
- Try an alkaline or acidic cleaning agent – if necessary, intensify the cleaning by using a slightly coarse sponge or a “magic sponge”.
- Try a solvent-based cleaning agent – if necessary, intensify the cleaning by using a slightly coarse sponge or a “magic sponge”.
Safety instructions when using ABL worktops: do not stand or otherwise lean your weight on the worktop. Heavy items and items falling on or hitting the worktop, especially at its edges or corners, may scratch or damage the worktop. Ceramic knives may not be used directly on the ceramic worktop. Cutting boards protect both the knife and the worktop.
